Queensbury Road was developed around 1990 and issued a State Stormwater Permit at that time, as the developer was creating more than 1 acre of impervious surface. The original permit required the construction of a sedimentation basin.
In 2021, the current residents of the 21 properties covered by the expired permit received letters from the State indicating they need to comply with the regulations outlined in the 3-9050 permit, which addresses expired permits located in stormwater impaired watersheds, as well as developments that have more than 3 acres of total impervious, such as this one.
In 2021, the City received a loan from the State with 100% loan forgiveness to complete the engineering design associated with the State Stormwater General Permit 3-9050.
The City is currently under contract with an engineering firm to complete the Engineering Feasibility Analysis to determine what improvements need to be made to the existing sedimentation basin to bring it into compliance with current stormwater treatment design standards.
